ALZHEIMER SUPPORT - 4th Tuesday of each month at 1pm. All are welcome!
The group welcomes new people at all times and is facilitated by Tanglewood Assisted Living. Support Groups are the heart of the Alzheimer’s Association and are attended by families, caregivers and friends of persons with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as other related dementia disorders.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
We are thankful for Jessica from The Medical Team Hospice who has reached out to us and offered to facilitate the Grief Support Group. The group will focus on learning to cope with the loss of a loved one. It will provide education, support and techniques to cope and grow through loss.

MEDICARE/MEDICAID/Micafe Assistance programs
Ann Walker dedicates her time Friday mornings to assist seniors in making informed decisions regarding Medicare. She also helps with applications for benefits that help pay for medical insurance costs like the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) and Extra Help from Social Security for prescription drugs. By appointment only. Call for an appointment.
You may qualify for MSP that pays your Medicare Part B premium ($185/month in 2025) IF:
You are single and your gross income is less than $1,714.25/month and assets are less than $9,430
You are married and your combined gross incomes are less than $2,319.50/month and assets are less than $14,130.
You may qualify for Extra Help from Social Security for prescription drugs IF:
You are single and your gross income is less than $1,902/month and your assets are less than $17,220.
You are married and your combined gross incomes are less than $2,575/month and your assets are less than $34,360.
MiCafe is a food assistance program designed to support low-income families in purchasing essential food items to sustain their health and independence. Income level to qualify varies according to family and income.

Attorney Seth Neblock offers FREE legal services to Seniors over the age of 60, regardless of income who are residents of Genesee County. Helps with elder law, wills, power-of-attorney, patient advocate, estate planning, Medicaid planning, housing complaints, public benefits, domestic violence, Social Security assistance, consumer/bankruptcy and employment issues. LSEM DOES NOT assist with trusts or criminal cases. 30 minute appointments. Please call to schedule.
CARE CLOSET
We inventory wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, commodes, canes and crutches for those age 50 and over. We also accept sanitized functional equipment during business hours only. (8:00AM - 4:00PM) Please call to see what we have available before driving out.
CONSUMER FRAUD ASSISTANCE
If you are having any problems with a place of business or question whether you have been scammed, call and we can connect you with a representative from the office of the Genesee County Sheriff Consumer Fraud Division. Their mission is to protect the citizens of Genesee County by gathering, processing, and investigating consumer complaints, attempting to resolve them.

DISPOSAL OF THE AMERICAN FLAG
American flags that are tattered or torn can be placed in a plastic bag and dropped off at the Senior Center. We will make sure it gets disposed of properly.
